Screwable line bushings

Pluggable line bushings

Thanks to their design, pluggable cable bushings enable time-saving installation without screwing. They are easy to install and offer a robust construction for long-term use.

'Two-path' line bushings

Thanks to their pluggable design paired with a threaded adapter, two-path cable bushings allow an easy installation. They offer a robust construction for long-term use.

LBCON Ex d with terminal block in Ex e

Line bushings are used for the electrical connection of devices in potentially explosive enclosures. This can be between a pressure-proof enclosure and an enclosure with a different type of protection.
The LBCON is a special solution. Here, the line bushing and connection enclosure have been combined. The main advantage of this type of connection is that contact can be made without opening the pressure-proof enclosure.
The LBCON can be opened by unscrewing the connection housing. Contact is made via a terminal block with 3 or 5 poles and 8 poles for Ethernet.

General information

Function

Line bushings play an important role in the electrical connection of devices in areas with a risk of explosion. They ensure that a safe connection is established between an enclosure with a pressure-proof encapsulated housing and an enclosure with a different type of protection (e.g. Ex e) in accordance with the DIN EN 60079-0 standard or another pressure-proof enclosure. This ensures that the cables are protected against direct contact. Depending on requirements, they can be used for various purposes, such as intrinsically safe circuits, measuring and control circuits or energy circuits. If the cable entries are without cables (i.e. only encapsulated), they can also be used as closure elements for enclosures with the " pressure-proof enclosure d" type of protection.

This makes it possible to reseal existing drill holes or threads or to provide them for future expansions by sealing them for the time being and fitting them with cable glands later if required. Our cable entries can be used internationally and have approvals such as ATEX, UKEX, IECEx, CCC, CSA, CSA-US, FM, UL. We have an 'X-certificate' for the ATEX/IECEx area, which makes it possible to integrate these cable glands into new products or equip existing products with other line bushings without additional testing.

Design / cables and wires

Our line bushings are available as screwable, pluggable and 2-path versions. Screw connections from M10 to M42 are provided as standard, up to M72 on request. Deviations from this must be agreed with the approval authorities.

For pluggable line bushings, the equivalent sizes of a screwable bushing apply.

An essential quality feature of a line bushing is the adhesion of the cast resin to the cables. In addition to their high temperature resistance, RADOX® cables have also proven to have very strong adhesion.

The cast resin we use is an approved, future-proof cast resin that is not subject to the constant risk of discontinuation by the supplier as a special production. 

We also offer a high-temperature version (-60°C...150°C).
